First Aid at Work
Our first aid at work course covers the course content specified in the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981 and follows the European Resuscitation Guidelines.
Training is led by UK-registered medics. All candidates are issued with certifcates (valid for three years), CPR face shields and manuals.
Course Content:
Role of a First Aider
Managing and preparing for an emergency
Health and Safety Regulations
Basic Life Support (CPR, recovery position, causes of unconsciousness, choking)
AED – Defibrillator Training
anaphylaxis (inc. use of the epipen)
asthma
bleeds
burns
diabetes
eye injuries
fainting
fractures and spinal injuires
head injuries
heart attacks
hypothermia and heat exhaustion
poisoning
shock
seizures
soft tissue injuries
strokes
The course includes dealing with an emergency, assessing and monitoring a casualty, first aid protocol, reporting of injuries and illnesses.
This course now includes a practical, hands-on automated external defibrillator (AED) awareness session using trainer AEDs, a move which has been welcomed by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE), citing that awareness training instills greater confidence in the use of AEDs.
Duration:
3 days or 2 days if requalifying. Training may be delivered over a number of evenings or weekends too at no additional cost
Qualification Certificate:
On successful completion of the course you will receive a QNUK Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work, valid for 3 years.

Multiple-choice paper and practical assessment
